EKO Bulgaria in support of the fight against COVID-19
In the context of the pandemic spread of coronavirus, EKO Bulgaria is taking specific action to support Bulgarian medical professionals and make a donation of a total of BGN 100,000. The funds are intended for the purchase of breathing apparatus and medical equipment for St. Anna University General Hospital for Active Treatment in Sofia and St. George University General Hospital for Active Treatment in Plovdiv. Each of these two health facilities will receive for free one latest-generation invasive respirator designed for the treatment of patients of all ages, a vital signs monitor and a medical pump for infusion of solutions and medications. The donation covers all costs on the purchase and installation of the equipment. It is tailored to the specific needs of both hospitals and aims at providing more patients with adequate treatment in times of pandemic.
In addition to medical equipment for specific health facilities, the company will also provide funds to BCause Foundation to support disadvantaged families in the region of Northwestern Bulgaria in this emergency situation.
"Helping those who fight tirelessly against the insidious disease on the first line is the least we can do as an expression of solidarity with their efforts. Our donation is dictated not only by the fact that it is our duty to support the society in difficult times. As a socially responsible company, we believe that the only way to do this is through mutual assistance and provision of quality medical services. Our actions are the expression of Hellenic Petroleum's strong support in the fight against COVID-19. In all six countries where the Group operates, donations have been made in the field of healthcare and for the local communities,” said Mr. Andreas Triantopoulos, CEO of EKO Bulgaria.
