"Running Beyond Borders" – EKO Bulgaria Employees Join the Athens Marathon in Support of Children's Dreams
EKO Bulgaria employees took part in the 41st Athens Marathon The Authentic, held on November 9 and 10 in the Greek capital. This legendary event carried the theme "Running Beyond Borders – Six Countries, One Team, One Good Cause," in support of the "Make A Wish" organization, which will make the dreams of three underprivileged children come true.
United by team spirit, solid preparation, and a desire to be ambassadors of goodwill, EKO Bulgaria employees displayed impressive endurance and strong results as they completed the 5-kilometer route. Participants included Anna Ancheva – Brand Marketing Specialist, Denitsa Antimova – Controlling Manager, Desislava Vasileva – Compliance Manager, and Andrey Shevkenov – IT Specialist.
“Sports bring people together – our group had diverse roles within EKO, but we came together as a team, with everyone aiming to give their best for our group’s success,” said Anna Ancheva.
"Every EKO Bulgaria participant invested great effort in their preparation and worked hard to improve their performance for the cause. Reaching the finish line and seeing the Olympic rings in front of us was incredibly exciting," added Andrey Shevkenov.
EKO Bulgaria is part of the HELLENiQ ENERGY GROUP team, which set a record this year by uniting 232 employees from six countries — Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Volunteers took on the 5, 10, and 42 km routes.

Twelve-year-old George from West Attica dreams of a specialized wheelchair, four-year-old Marios from West Thessaloniki wishes for a new bedroom, and 16-year-old Eleftheria from Kozani hopes to attend a Formula 1 race up close.
