Fixed Assets Accountant

The company is looking for a Fixed Assets Accountant keen to pursue a career in a multinational organisation. The person will report to the AR/AP Supervisor of the company and will be part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency of the company’s books and records by managing daily accounting tasks.

Main responsibilities:

  • To perform and ensure effective, efficient and accurate accounting and administration of the Company’s tangible and intangible assets with respect to underlying transactions such as;: purchases, sales write-offs, reclassifications etc.
  • Preparation, submission of declarations and communication with the municipalities for property taxes and garbage fees;
  • Responsible for the monthly accounting of tax on expenses - taxes on representative expenses, social expenses, vehicle operating tax;
  • Prepare monthly reports;
  • Assist the Supervisor in the preparation of the monthly and annual VAT filing and period closing;
  • Assist with other accounting projects.

In respect of the ideal candidate profile:

  • University Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics;
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the Accounting Department of a large corporation (experience with assets would be considered an advantage);
  • Knowledge of an ERP system (SAP ideally) would be considered an advantage;
  • Good understanding of accounting principles and practices;
  • Keen to study for a professional qualification financed by the company;
  • Good level of written and spoken English;
  • Very good analytical and organising skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • A collaborative and team-oriented attitude;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
